Dear Parents & Students,

I want to begin by saying I am so excited to be here! After spending a week with some of you on the mission trip, I can honestly say there is a lot of energy and potential rising within this group. There are good things to come, I know it!

I also want to apologize for the lapse in communication the last couple of weeks. Following the mission trip I was on a week of leave to recover from the various transitions in my life. After some quality rest in Colorado Springs, I have spent most of this week catching up and planning for the fall. From now on you can expect an update to come through email each week. Our facebook page, twitter account, and youth blog are all updated regularly as well (see links below).

I am also emailing you today to give you a quick update about the youth program. Below is some important information for all of you to know:

1. We will begin Sunday school again this week (August 7^th). However, because this week is also family worship we will be honoring this church-wide commitment. This Sunday both parents and students are invited to meet at 9:00 am in the high school room downstairs to prepare for family worship. Following the 9:15 service, we will meet for half an hour to discuss the service and why worshipping as a community is so significant. Please join us for an exciting start to our fall quarter!

2. After two weeks off the youth will be reuniting to reflect on their mission trip experience. The whole church community is invited to attend this event and hear what our students have been up to this summer. Please join us in the parlor from 6:00-7:30 pm on Sunday August 14^th for a time of fellowship, laughter, and most importantly to hear what God is doing in and through these kids!

3. The regular Sunday school schedule (9:00-10:30 am) will resume on Sunday August 14^th.

4. The regular UMYF schedule (6:00-8:00) will resume on Sunday August 21^st. However, this first week will be a special event to welcome our incoming 7^th & 8^th grade students. More information coming soon!

5. If you think you may have lost something during the mission trip, check out the lost and found album on our facebook page. If you don’t have facebook, feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email describing your missing item.
